Our Qualifications

John Garretson

John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® PROFESSIONAL  and Financial Advisor and has over 25 years in the investment advisory business.  He holds a B.S. from Michigan State University, 1980.  Working primarily with individual investors and pension plans of small business owners, John has been utilizing Point and Figure technical analysis since 1992.

John is a member of the National Financial Aid Practitioners Alliance and offers his College Financial Aid presentation at many area high schools and businesses.  John has counseled many clients to help them increase their college financial aid eligibility and to develop strategies to pay for college expenses not covered by financial aid and to protect the family assets for the future.

John makes his home in Cranford, and has three children.  His daughter is a junior at The College of New Jersey and his sons are students in the Cranford school system.

Jamie Miller 

Jamie Miller joins us with over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry. He holds a B.S. in Finance for Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business. Prior to joining Garretson Financial, Jamie was a Senior Partner with Van der Moolen Specialists, USA, member NYSE, where he led his firm's client relation group.  His expertise in client relationship building and strong capital risk management skills will aid our clients with all their financial and retirement plan decisions.
